Come join the fun and mingle with your neighbors – the annual BNA Block Party is almost here!
¡Fiesta! – September 16 is Mexican Independence Day, so we will have a south of the border treat. Our fiesta will include made to order street tacos with your choice of carne asada, pollo asado, or adobada – marinated pork sliced straight off a rotating rotisserie – topped with fresh guacamole, plus quesadillas and fish tacos. Tortillas will be handmade on site! To dress up your tacos, there will be red chili salsa and tomatillo salsa; plus Mexican rice, and lard-free refried beans.
Don’t forget to bring your own special favorite side dish, main dish or dessert to share in our potluck (write your name on the dish and serving utensils, or we will auction them at the end of the day). BNA thanks Kim Hawley of Ascent Real Estate for donating the table centerpieces.
We hope to have Senator Toni Atkins, Assemblymember Todd Gloria, and Councilmember Chris Ward joining us for the afternoon – watch for them and get to know your city and state representatives.
For kids there will be a “jumpie house,” and to entertain the grown-ups, a drawing for gifts donated by our local businesses. Our classic Burlingame snow cones will be available to cool everyone.
Thanks to a generous donation from Jim Hush of Ascent Real Estate, there will be great music by one of Balboa Park’s favorite groups, with a musical repertoire that spans the Beatles to Broadway – San Diego Zoo’s crazy, funky, show-stopping, singing, dancing Seaside Brass! Their show starts at 4:00 pm!
While you are at the party, don’t forget to renew your BNA membership, or join if you are new to the neighborhood, and learn more about BNA and your neighbors. Meet us on Pamo Ave between Laurel St and Maple St for a great afternoon!
